Unique Peloponnese

Begin your journey at Peloponnese, here where the legend meets history. Emblematic monuments from every historical period, important archeological sites such as Ancient Olympia, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Tirintha, the temple of Apollo Epicurious, many Byzantine churches, uniquely beautiful villages and scenic towns, fascinating castles that promise a magical trip in time and unique experiences that you will always remember.

It has rich natural beauty, mountains, rivers, caves and wonderful beaches; which are sandy on the west coast and rockier on the east coast.

All these make Peloponnese an ideal place for vacationing and entertainment, walking, sports and coming into contact with history and culture.

Although its place at the west coast of Peloponnese is a bit isolated, Olympia had been established as the most important religious and sporting center of Greece. Here, the most important games of ancient Greece were born, the Olympic Games, which were organized every four years in honor of Zeus; a glorious event which had taken place from antiquity until today.

The beginning of worship and the start of the legendary battles which took place in ancient Olympia is lost to us. The local legends talk about the powerful king of the area the famous Pelops, and the river god Alfio, and those legends show us the strong connections of the temple with the East and the West.

According to the website of World Heritage Designation of UNESCO, there isn’t any other archeological site in the entire world with such strong ties to the modern reality as is that of Olympia. The ancient stadium of Olympia, where the Olympic Games took place in antiquity as well as the monumental size temple of Zeus, the biggest one in Peloponnesus, are only some of the sights of the space.
